BKF Guest Instructor – Grappling Workshop @ St Agnes School
Jun 17 @ 9:00 am – 12:30 pm

Daniel, (pictured centre) is well known to Brisbane Kung Fu, and has trained with Shi Gong Jason and Shi Xiong Richard on numerous occasions.
He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in Brazilian Jiu–Jitsu.

Daniel will be working with myself and NJ, to introduce the Kung Fu Kids to some basic BJJ principles and practical skills. I’m sure the kids will enjoy the experience and exposure to a different martial arts style.

Xingyiquan – An Introduction to Internal Kung Fu @ TBA
Jun 17 @ 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

The seminar will cover a range of topics organised around a central theme and question – ‘What is the difference between Internal and External Kung Fu.’ To compare the two types of kung fu, participants will be presented with a mix of practical activities, theoretical instruction, and formal discussion. The system of Xingyiquan, as an example of Internal Kung Fu, will be used as a tool to examine this question.
The content of the seminar will introduce participants to fundamental training practices of Xingyiquan such as:
• Standing postures for structural alignment.
• Breath control and use of dantian for internal power.
• The Five Phases of Xingyiquan for combat applications and tactics.
